Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tallahassee, Inc. is pleased to announce the expansion of its program services to include a Healing Garden.
As a home-away-from-home, the Ronald McDonald House provides comfort and shelter to the families of children fighting illness. It is a place of rest and rejuvenation after long days and nights at the hospital. The addition of a Healing Garden will enhance the therapeutic setting of the facility and complement the natural landscape. Research has proven that time spent in nature reduces stress, improves concentration and aides in both physical and emotional healing.
The Healing Garden has been designed by Meghan Cox Mick, owner of From The Ground Up specializing in children’s outdoor spaces. Overall project management is under Tim Templeton of AJAX Building Corporation.
The Healing Garden extends the mission of Ronald McDonald House which creates, finds, and supports programs that directly improve the health and well being of children.
