Ambassadors

The Chamber’s Ambassador Program is comprised of business professionals who support the Chamber’s mission.

Ambassadors act as voluntary liaisons between the Chamber and its membership (i.e. ribbon cuttings, etc).

Persons interested in joining the Ambassador program should contact Christian Mummau at cmummau@talchamber.com or (850) 521-3109.

“Serving as Ambassadors has enriched our lives both personally and professionally. Not only have we developed and nurtured friendships over the years, we have established valuable business relationships through the networking opportunities and events sponsored by the Chamber. Its an honor to serve as Ambassadors at ribbon cuttings and Business After Hours, along with welcoming new members to our community. It’s a wonderful feeling to do business with friends! To us, this is what Tallahassee is all about…and in some small way, we can contribute and be a part of it!”

I have found that the members of the chamber all had some things in common: we were in business and/or developing business, and neither is easy. However, the Chamber was one place that it felt good to belong; only here were the commonalities of being in business development so evident.

Over the years, as I have seen the Tallahassee community more and more from the perspective of a business owner I have been impressed time and again at the initiative that the Chamber takes on issues that are so vital for our community to flourish. The Chamber is more than a “membership club”. It is educational and empowering.

Being involved in the Ambassador program gives me a great opportunity to meet potential clients and stay informed about the business landscape in Tallahassee. It is also a great venue to assist new business owners and new chamber members with navigating through the many programs and events Chamber offers to it’s members. Facilitating various meetings allows me to make connections and network with other business owners in our community. The Ambassadors are dedicated professionals and a fun group to be a part of!

The Ambassador Program helps me get the most from my Chamber membership.  A significant part of my business includes building relationships.  Being an ambassador with our local Chamber gives me an opportunity to meet business owners and their staff in a mutually supportive environment.  In my experience, most business owners I’ve met through the Chamber understand the necessity of continuously prospecting and growing their businesses.  To that end, Chamber members are genuinely interested in sharing what they do as well as understanding your business understanding that we may or may not be one anothers customer, but we can all refer customers to each other.

I have been an active Ambassador for 13 years (and counting) because I view supporting our of the Chamber to be a worthy community service activity that I genuinely enjoy. I believe my Ambassador services reflect favorably upon my employer, Florida State University. Through my Ambassador activities, I have become acquainted with local city and county officials who subsequently have been able to help with issues important to me. Similarly, I have connected with members of the business community who have joined or in some meaningful way assisted the other organizations I support. Simply stated, participation as an Ambassador can enhance one’s effectiveness as a community service volunteer, just as it enhances traditional commercial effectiveness. The professional and social contacts developed while serving as an Ambassador are priceless!

The opportunity that the Chamber provides to become an Ambassador is great and very rewarding. Having the ability to get in front of business owners at their ribbon cuttings is an essential to successful networking. Helping facilitate events as an Ambassador allows for us to meet many people and from a wide array of businesses. The Chamber’s Ambassador program has significantly increased my employer’s visibility in the community and has allowed me to increase my network of contacts tenfold. I am very glad I made the choice to be an Ambassador for the Chamber.
