  • Chamber advocates on behalf of local businesses in meeting with Congresswoman-Elect Gwen Graham

    The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce hosted a roundtable discussion with Congresswoman-Elect Gwen Graham during today’s meeting of its Business Advocacy Committee. The influential Committee, comprised of small business owners, CEOs and representatives from FSU, Florida A&M and TCC, had the opportunity to talk one-on-one with Congresswoman-Elect Graham about issues impacting local businesses and the community in Florida’s Capital City.

  • Chamber announces its 2014-15 Chair & Board of Directors

    The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce announces its 2014-15 Board of Directors, led by new Chair Rick Moore, Principal of Moore Bass Consulting, Inc., who will lead the Chamber’s projects and initiatives for the upcoming year. Moore was officially handed the Chamber gavel by Past Chair E. Edward Murray, Jr. in front of more than 350 business leaders during yesterday’s Annual Breakfast Meeting, which is the first official event of the Chamber’s fiscal year, which began October 1.

  • 2014 Chamber Awards Winners Announced

    Tallahassee, Fla. – The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce announced the winners for its 2014 Chamber Awards during a ceremony held in front of almost 400 attendees earlier today. Six different category winners were announced, highlighted by New Leaf Market Co-op being selected as the coveted “Chamber Business of the Year.”  Presented by Capital City Bank and the Tallahassee Democrat, this is the 29th year of the Chamber Awards.

Leadership Tallahassee is a division of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.

  • Business Incubator Keeps Bright Ideas in the Community

    For many years, college graduates from Florida State University, Florida A&M University, and other schools have taken their expertise and moved elsewhere to pursue their dreams of starting a business. That changes tomorrow at 6 p.m. when Domi, in partnership with Leon County Government and in affiliation with Florida State University, opens a newly renovated business incubator and co-working space at the Leon County Historic Amtrak Station, 918 Railroad Ave.

  • New Leaderboard Program Kicks Off, Pairing Up Non-Profits With Interested Volunteers

    TALLAHASSEE – Leadership Tallahassee, the region’s premier leadership organization since 1983, launched the region’s first-ever board-matching website this week. LeaderBoard will transform the way that non-profits identify and select volunteers interested in serving as a board member by ensuring that local nonprofit boards have access to Tallahassee’s trained, engaged and diverse community leaders. Registered organizations will have the ability to review the skills and interests of potential board members. Leadership Tallahassee is an affiliate program of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.

  • BUILDING BETTER BOARDS BRINGS BUSINESS & COMMUNITY LEADERS TOGETHER FOR MORE EFFECTIVE NONPROFITS

    Tallahassee, Fla.Leadership Tallahassee, the region’s premier leadership development organization, is hosting its popular annual event Building Better Boards on Tuesday, May 13 from 4:30pm – 8:30pm at Tallahassee Community College’s Center for Workforce Development. This event is a calendar highlight for employees of non-profits as well as local business professionals interested in volunteering their time to serve on a board. The event features 12 different workshops for attendees on topics from engaging volunteers and legal issues to governance and guidance for new board members. The keynote speaker is Tony Carvajal of the Florida Chamber Foundation.

  • Leadership Tallahassee proudly announces graduates of LT Class 31

    Leadership Tallahassee (LT), the region’s premier leadership development organization, announces the graduation of LT Class 31 from the yearlong community leadership-training program. The graduation luncheon was held Thursday, May 8 at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center.  Leadership Tallahassee alumni members and their guests were in attendance to celebrate this milestone for the current Class and heard plans for the community project the Class has selected.

    The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce announced the finalists for the 2014 Chamber Awards taking place Tuesday, June 3 at 11:30am at the University Center Club. The Chamber Awards is an annual ceremony recognizing businesses for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the community. The announcement of the 18 finalists from the 59 nominees was held during a reception Thursday evening hosted by Capital City Bank. The 2014 Chamber Awards are presented by Capital City Bank and the Tallahassee Democrat
