Nominations Open for the 2012 Business Excellence Awards Luncheon
Is your company deserving of being recognized for its accomplishments? Do you have a client that should be honored for their business? The Chamber along with presenting sponsors Capital City Bank and Tallahassee Democrat invite you to fill out an application for this year’s Business Excellence Awards Luncheon. The Chamber will receive applications through March 19, 2012.

Health & Wellness Business of the Year Award
Company’s mission, products and services must focus on the aspect of health and wellness. Health can be defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a more successful existence. APPLY HERE
Manufacturing Business of the Year Award
Any industry that makes products from raw materials by the use of manual labor or machines and that is usually carried out systematically with a division of labor. In a more limited sense, manufacturing is the fabrication or assembly of components into finished products on a fairly large scale. Among the most important manufacturing industries are those that produce aircraft, automobiles, chemicals, clothing, computers, consumer electronics, electrical equipment, furniture, heavy machinery, refined petroleum products, ships, steel, and tools. Non Profit/Association of the Year Award
A non-profit organization is a group organized for purposes other than generating profit and in which no part of the organization’s income is distributed to its members, directors, or officers. Non-profit organizations must be designated as nonprofit when created and may only pursue purposes permitted by statutes for non-profit organizations. Non-profit organizations include churches, public schools, public charities, public clinics and hospitals, political organizations, legal aid societies, volunteer services organizations, labor unions, professional associations, research institutes, museums, and some governmental agencies. Service Industry Business of the Year Award
The service industry represents companies that provide services rather than a goods. Businesses including banking, communications, wholesale and retail trade, all professional services such as engineering and medicine, all consumer services, and all government services. APPLY HERE
Start Up Business of the Year Award
A company that is in the first stage of its operations and that has not been in business for more than 24 months. APPLY HERE
Technology Business of the Year Award
Company must have demonstrated ability in adopting and utilizing technology to directly increase productivity, efficiency, revenue and/or profits. This sector contains businesses revolving around the manufacturing of electronics, creation of software, computers or products and services relating to information technology. APPLY HERE
The Chamber will also give away the Business of the Year award highlighting an overall winner out of six categories. All nominees will have their applications reviewed by an evaluation team. Finalists will be announced in April.
Event Information
Winners will be announced at the awards luncheon on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the University Center Club. REGISTER HERE
