Employers invited to participate in TCC job fair

Big Bend businesses and other employers are invited to “meet their match” on Wednesday, November 5, when Tallahassee Community College hosts its Fall Job Fair. The event will take place in the Student Union Ballroom from 9 a.m. to noon.
Whether employers are seeking full- or part-time staff, seasonal employees for holiday hiring, or interns, the Fall Job Fair is a great opportunity to meet many job candidates in just a short amount of time.
“More than 480 participants attended last fall’s job fair, said Catie Goodman, director of TCC’s Career Center, “and we are expecting an even larger crowd in November.”
Sergeant Oscar Brannon, a recruiter for the Tallahassee Police Department, has been attending job fairs since 2001 and gets to a TCC job fair at least once a year. Brannon said he particularly appreciates the excellent support provided by the TCC Career Center staff and the very reasonable registration cost for employers, compared with other job fairs.
“This is a great opportunity to meet good candidates and to get your organization’s name out in front of people in a very positive light…. When they hear your company’s name, they picture products on a shelf, not the inside of the organization. This is a big opportunity to let them know what a good place it is to work.”
Brannon will attend the November 5 job fair with Officer Sean Wyman, TPD’s internship coordinator, who will be talking with students about how to apply for one of the agency’s semester-long internships.
