Opening Reception of Civil Rights in the Sunshine State

Join the Museum of Florida History for the opening of the new special exhibit Civil Rights in the Sunshine State. Produced by the Museum of Florida History, this exhibit explores the history of the civil rights movement in Florida through artifacts, archival images, film footage and oral histories to educate visitors about Florida’s significant contributions to the movement.
At 6:00 p.m. Dr. Robert Hayling, a leader of the St. Augustine civil rights movement in the 1960s, speaks about working with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other activists to desegregate America’s oldest city.
