Power Hour: Lunch and Learn will take place on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 11:45 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Region’s Bank on 2000 Capital Circle NE. The topic for the upcoming session is Performance Management presented by HR Florida President Joyce Chastain. Lunch will be provided.
In this training session, attendees will be provided guidelines that can be used for either very elaborate and sophisticated evaluation systems or those that may be less systematic and formal. Whichever approach is preferred by the organization, the appraisal process is to improve communication between employee and supervisor by measuring performance, reinforcing effective behavior and developing strategies for corrective ineffective behavior.
Attendees will take away tips on topics such as:
• Providing timely feedback
• Communicating criticism
• Discussing career goals
• Minimizing personal bias
• Avoiding wrongful discharge challenges
• Establishing performance targets
• The impact of phrasing
