AMWAT Moving Warehousing & Storage is hosting a Summer-Fill-A-Truck Food Drive on June 26, 2014 to benefit Second Harvest of The Big Bend.
On Thursday, 6/26 AMWAT’s Move For Hunger truck will be at Cascades Park by the Splash Pad accepting food/fund donations from 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and Lake Ella for Food Truck Thursday from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Sponsor, Tallahassee Democrat will serve as a receiving station for food donations for those who cannot make it to the parks. Approximately 86,000 people in the Big Bend area are food insecure; 1/3 are children and many are elderly individuals. Second Harvest of The Big Bend experiences an increase in demand for services and a decrease in donations during the summer months.
