TCC announces date for African-American History Calendar unveiling

Twelve organizations will be honored by Tallahassee Community College on Monday, January 26, when the College unveils its 15th annual Cherry Alexander African-American History Calendar.
The 7 p.m. ceremony, to be held in Turner Auditorium inside the College’s Fine and Performing Arts Center, will kick off TCC’s Black History Month celebration.
The 2015 calendar theme is “Sustaining the Dream, Inspiring the Future.” This year’s edition showcases local organizations that have made significant contributions in Leon, Gadsden and/or Wakulla counties. It also includes key dates in African-American history.
Now in its 15th year, the calendar will be distributed to over 10,000 area youth via schools, churches and other community institutions. Prior to the calendar unveiling ceremony, a 5:45 p.m. reception will be held in the FPAC lobby.
TCC will release the names of the 2015 calendar honorees on January 23.
