The Pyramid Players present "Breaking News!"

Breaking News! On Saturday, August 15, The Pyramid Players will present “Breaking News!” at The Moon, 1105 E. Lafayette Street.
This year, they’ve recruited some very special guests to help them deliver that “breaking news!” In commemoration of WCTV’s 60th Anniversary, joining The Players on stage will be evening anchor Julie Montanaro and past anchors Anna Johnson-Riedel and Frank Ranicky, who were with the station 35 and 36 years respectively.
Featuring the comedic antics of your favorite Players and some new talent as well, “Breaking News!” is an original musical comedy set in a television news station that is bound to tickle your funny-bone! You’ll see veteran performers James Ueberhorst and Elizabeth Haines as news anchors who just can’t get along (can you say divas?), Rick Carton as an overly dramatic on-the-scene beat reporter and, one of Tallahassee’s favorite crooners, Derrick Grimsley, as a singing weather man. And, of course, you’ll want to look for Ms. Montanaro, Ms. Johnson-Riedel and Mr. Ranicky in their cameo roles!
The doors open at 5:00 p.m. with an Pyramid-wide art show and a silent auction. Light refreshments will be served from 5-6:30 p.m. At 6:15, the Pyramid Studios Rock Band will bring the audience some pre-show entertainment. Curtain is at 7! Make sure to come early to get your seat savers so you’ll have plenty of time to browse before the show starts! The event is free, but donations are gratefully appreciated.
