Swing Dancing in the Street

Swing Dancing in the Street at the Knott House Museum
Saturday, September 19 at 6:30 p.m.
They’re dancing in the streets. This 1940s-style block party is held in front of the Knott House on Park Avenue. The Tallahassee Swing Band, an eighteen-piece dance band, dedicated to preserving nostalgic sounds of the swing era, will begin playing at 7:00 p.m. For newcomers, Michael Strickland of the FSU Swing Dance Club will conduct dance lessons beginning at 6:30 p.m. For those who prefer listening over dancing, the park across from the Knott House offers an ideal location to set up a lawn chair and enjoy the band. Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free of charge.
