Proper Pruning Practices

Florida’s cooler dormant season is a great time to prune trees. Not only is it easier to do yard work this time of year (remember the heat and humidity of last summer), but it is also easier on the trees. At this program, Stan Rosenthal will show how trees work, so that we can keep our trees healthy and more wind sturdy.
Stan Rosenthal currently works for Big Bend Forestry in urban and rural forestry. Prior to that he retired in 2016 from the University of Florida-IFAS/Leon County Extension as a Forestry Extension Agent where he had worked since 1995. Mr. Rosenthal has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Forester of the Year, Project Learning Tree (PLT) Facilitator of the Year and Business Partner of the Year awards from the Florida Forestry Association (FFA).
This program will be held at Goodwood Museum & Gardens in Jubilee Cottage. Feel free to bring your lunch or get takeout from the Rev Cafe.
