Black History Read-To-Lead

Join us for a celebration of Black History Month with a panel of readers and leaders from the Tallahassee community. Each panelist will be recommending a list of books that have shaped them into the leaders they are today! This panel will continue our tradition of hosting community-oriented events focused on the impact of reading on our lives.
This year’s Black History Read-to-Lead will be moderated by Dr. Ann L. Wead Kimbrough, a tenured professor in the School of Journalism & Graphic Communication, Florida A&M University. Between 2012 and 2017, Kimbrough served as dean of the school.  The veteran, award-winning financial journalist has a distinguished career in higher education administration, crisis communication, government relations and integrated social media management.
Other panelists include:
John Marks, the former Mayor of Tallahassee and co-owner of Tallahassee-based Black Television News Channel.
Funmi Ojetayo, a senior attorney with the Florida Department of Agriculture.
We are so excited to bring together this group of leaders from our community to share their experiences and the books that have shaped their lives.
