Over the last 12 years, the community has seen an overwhelming increase in youth experiencing trouble with the crime, homelessness, drug addiction, abuse, mental health issues, and so much more. The Clean Start Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing vital supports for many youths who are at higher risk for being exposed to these challenges. We believe that every child and teen deserves to be safe, supported, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our organization’s motto is “Peace, Love, and Unity” and we plan to spread that through our Inaugural Youth Feet Washing Event.
We invite the community to gather with us Saturday, March 11th at Trinity United Methodist Church from 11 am-2pm. During this time we will pray over our youth as we wash their feet and provide each one with a new pair of shoes, socks, and various school supplies. Once they join us on this day to begin their “Clean Start” they will be eligible to receive gift cards and other initiatives to reward good attendance and academic performance.
We cannot complete this important work alone. We rely on our communities generosity and good will to be able to make a difference in the lives of these young people. We look forward to working together to help create positive change that will benefit us all.
