A Day of Dialogue: For Women, About Women, By Women

In preparation for Women’s History Month 2014, TCC- Division of Workforce Development Leadership Institute is proud to host A Day of Dialogue:  For Women, About Women, By Women.  The daylong event will be a combination of presentations and breakout sessions that explore the qualities, characteristics and values that support women in reaching their full potential in both their personal and professional lives.
The keynote speaker will be Nancy Carter, PhD and Senior Vice President for Research, Catalyst, Inc.  She has spent most of her career conducting research related to women’s professional advancement and as a consultant in both the public and private sectors.  In 2007 she was honored with the prestigious International Award for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Research for her work on the Diana Project, a research initiative on women entrepreneurs and the venture capital industry. We will also hear personal stories from ordinary women who have accomplished extraordinary things in their everyday life.
Program participants will be actively engaged in identifying the skills and traits that allow women to thrive, even when facing barriers and resistance.  At the end of the day, we will prioritize these essential qualities and skills to develop a potential model for the delivery of women’s programs and services through the TCC Leadership Institute.
