June 6th was the 70th anniversary of D-Day. Peter W. Steuer, President of the WWII Historical Society, will show a slide presentation of the beautiful gardens and chateaux of Normandy. The picturesque vistas of this bucolic region of France inspired Monet and his fellow impressionists, yet witnessed some of the fiercest battles in military history. Mr. Steuer, an avid gardener and birder, has visited Normandy five times.
