The American Red Cross Capital Area Florida Chapter will be hosting the 9th Annual Hurricane 5K Run & 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, October 8, 2016. This year’s event will include an additional option for participants to #GetBlownAway and face NEW, exciting disaster-themed challenges along the race course. Note: These challenges do not impact or interfere with the traditional 5K course and runners do not have to participate in these challenges unless they choose to. All finishers will enjoy a Hurricane after-party with refreshments, awards and opportunities to hone their skills and knowledge of all things Red Cross. This great, fundraising event raises much needed funds to support our local Chapter’s vital programs and services to the Big Bend community in helping prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
