Brunch & Learn: Inauguration History

Event is free but reservations are required due to very limited seating.
Count down to inauguration day with us at the Historic Capitol Museum as we host a brunch and learn event. The history of inaugural lunches and balls will be the topic presented by Florida State University Professor Emeritus and Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Elizabeth Goldsmith. With her first-hand White House experience, Dr. Goldsmith captivates audiences worldwide with her insight into the traditions, foods, and behaviors seen at Presidential and Gubernatorial inaugurations through time. Find out what Floridians may expect to see on January 8th while enjoying some flavors of inaugurations past.
This program is part of the series complementing temporary exhibit On the Steps of History: Florida’s Inaugurations. Funding for this program was provided through a grant from the Florida Humanities Council with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily represent those of the Florida Humanities Council or the National Endowment for the Humanities.
