First Commerce Credit Union invites the community to join us for our 1st anniversary celebration of Discovery at Cascades Park on Saturday, March 14, from 2 to 5 p.m. Discovery, a first-of-its-kind family-oriented playscape in a public space in North Florida, is proudly presented by First Commerce. In addition to the interactive play at Discovery, there will be family-friendly fun including hands-on art activities, a bounce house, giveaways, refreshments, and an appearance by First Commerce’s Sammy Squirrel mascot. Every hour starting at 2:30, Esposito Lawn and Garden Center will offer short workshops on spring gardening. The event will kick off at 2 p.m. with a short program featuring First Commerce’s latest gift to the community and Discovery: the unveiling of a sculpture by local artist Paul Tamanian. First Commerce’s Discovery event leads up to the City of Tallahassee Parks & Recreation Department’s Cascades Park 1st birthday celebration, which begins at 5 p.m. with classic birthday party games & cupcakes, and will feature “Toy Story” on a big screen in the amphitheater at 7:30 p.m. All events are free and open to the public. The rain date for First Commerce’s 1st anniversary celebration of Discovery is Sunday, March 15, from 2 to 5 p.m.
