First Commerce Credit Union will help business leaders learn about choosing the right retirement plan for your business and exit strategies for business owners at a free seminar on Tuesday, October 15.
Speakers will include Sherwood Brown, CFP®, Business Services Manager at First Commerce Credit Union and John Medina, President of First Commerce’s full-service investment management and financial advisory firm, Six Pillars Financial Advisors. Brown leads the business services division of First Commerce and is a Certified Financial Planner. Medina is a longtime banking professional who holds multiple industry designations in the financial services industry. He has been developing personal and corporate financial plans for more than 25 years.
Brown will cover business succession planning and developing an exit strategy, from preparing for a sale or transition to preparing for the unexpected. Medina will cover business retirement plan options from Single Ks and SEP IRAs to 401Ks and 403Bs. They will also conduct a question-and-answer session and attendees will have an opportunity to network with other business owners.
The seminar will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 5:45 to 7 p.m. at the First Commerce Credit Union branch at 3343 Thomasville Road near the I-10 interchange.
