We will explore how raising farmed animals and related crops affect ecosystems and our health through climate change, the depletion of natural resources, pollution, pesticides, and world hunger. Participants will discuss alternative choices that can help protect our environment and our health, as well as a more compassionate relationship with animals. No pre-registration is required, and childcare is available. Workshop will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tallahassee in Room L, and all are welcome. http://www.uutallahassee.org/contact-us/
Why I joined the Chamber
“In 2009 I had my ah-hah moment in regards to the impact of the Chamber of Commerce on our business. I accepted the award for Technology Company of the Year and a photo of that moment was captured by the Democrat and the Aegis Partnership (member just really doesn’t cover it) with the Chamber was off to the races in a new gear. We had been members for a while, but it was time to really engage for networking and community involvement. The next year I chaired Access Tallahassee (when I used to be young),went through Leadership Tallahassee, continued my run of 12 straight Annual Conferences, Business after Hours, Lunch and Learns, Committee involvement and more specific programs like the Light House of the Big Bend effort last year, very powerful. When people ask if Aegis is a member of the Chamber, I say yes, and let me tell you how it has helped our company.”
