Public Meeting Planned for Glendale Utility Improvement Project

The City of Tallahassee Underground Utilities Department will host a public meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 11, to discuss planned water and sewer improvements for the Glendale neighborhood. The meeting will take place from 6-8 p.m. in the Club Room at the Ashford Club Apartments, 2055 Thomasville Road.

The planned project will include a complete replacement of all water lines within the neighborhood, the addition of fire hydrants and repairs to the sewer system where necessary. Following the utility work, the City’s Public Works Department will resurface the affected roadways.

At the public meeting, staff from Underground Utilities will be on hand to answer questions about the project. Project plans and area maps will be available. This meeting will have an open house format with no formal presentation, allowing citizens to come and go at their convenience.

Underground Utilities plans to solicit bids in March, with construction scheduled to start in May or June. The department anticipates nine months for project construction.
