It’s time to break out the feathers, the boas, and the tropical prints, and dance to the groove of Brazil as an ensemble of local musicians create a celebration that will make you feel as though you are in Rio de Janeiro for Carnival…without ever having left Tallahassee!Multi-instrumentalist, composer, and FSU musicologist Paddy League will lead the talented crew of performers for a musical event that incorporates the tropical sounds of Brazil, from the cool bossa nova and samba of Rio, to the driving percussion music of the Northeast. Wines, beer, and soft drinks will be available for purchase at Goodwood’s concession stand – there will be a variety of local craft beers while two unique (and on-theme) food trucks keep attendees well-fed. Please no BYOB or coolers at this event – camp chairs and blankets are welcome! Entry is $5 per person, with kids under the age of 15 attending for free. Tickets can be purchased in advance HERE or at the door. Come dressed to dance! This event is presented by Capital City Bank and sponsored in part by COCA. Goodwood Museum & Gardens is located at 1600 Miccosukee Road, Tallahassee.
Why I joined the Chamber
“In my line of work, success is dependent on cultivating relationships, which can be difficult without a common thread on which to build. The Chamber of Commerce has been the common thread that allowed me in the door where I could demonstrate the value I bring to the relationship. I recently began a working relationship with Anna Duren from Walter Green born entirely out of a connection first made by the Chamber. The opportunities afforded by my company’s Chamber membership opened doors for me in ways I have not seen with other business development strategies. In banking, familiarity and trust come first, and that usually has to develop over time. This is why the Chamber works for me – it allows me to dedicate the time and put the relationship before the ask.”
